So, August! I got a part-time job at Lush to tide me over till Christmas whilst I’m still working out what I want to do with my life after uni, and then my boyfriend came to visit twice and last week we went to a maze shaped like a T-Rex (which satisfied my dinosaur obsession immensely).
Now, onto my August wrap-up.

Favourite Novels This Month
Least Favourite Novels This Month
None! I gave them all 4/5 or 5/5, but Girl Detached was definitely the standout novel of the month (and even a standout novel of the whole year).
Coming Up
I’m still reading The Fireman by Joe Hill. It’s a biiiiig book and I did barely any reading last week whilst Mark was visiting. However, I’ve been speeding through it the last couple of days so expect a review by the end of the week, or at least early next week.
After that, I’m going to read Soundless followed by The Stars Never Rise. Hopefully I’ll enjoy them!
I have a couple more tags to get through but some others I’ll be putting on hold. Thanks so much to everyone who’s been tagging me but I’m a bit tagged out now! I’m gonna lay off them for a while and do some more discussion posts etc.
Also, this isn’t something to look out for in September, but just a reminder that my review of Goldenhand by Garth Nix will be going live in the first week of October, a week before its official release date. So keep your eyes peeled! I’ve written it so that people who are new to the series can still read the review without stumbling upon any major spoilers. So, if you’re thinking of getting into the Old Kingdom series, my review should hopefully convince you!
What have you got up to this August? Has it been a good month for reading? Let me know in the comments below!
Seems like you had a great month, and I’m glad you enjoyed all the books you read! I’m hesitant about picking up Soundless by Richelle Mead because I didn’t like The Glittering Court, which is the only book I’ve read by her. I really do want to give her a second chance, but I’m afraid I might end up hating it. xx

Thank you! Yeah I’ve quite mixed things about The Glittering Court, but Soundless will actually be my first Richelle Mead book. I’ve heard better things about Soundless and it sounds promising so hopefully it’ll be good. I’d say give Soundless a go, it’s not a big book so you won’t have waisted half your life if you don’t enjoy it! xx

A t-rex maze? That sounds awesome! And I really hope you enjoy “The stars never rise” – I just finished the sequel and really enjoyed that. Although I was a little gutted to learn that the series is just a duology!
Otherwise I’ve had a really good reading month myself. You’ll have to let me know what you think of Soundless – thats also on my tbr pile… although still not sure when I will get round to it. There are so many fantastic books releasing this month!

Yeah every year they grow a maze out of maize arranged into a new shape haha! Thank you, I hope I enjoy it too, it sounds good. That’s a shame it’s only a duology, however I have so many other series to finish I’m kinda glad this one is just two books haha! I’m glad you’ve had a good reading month, I’ll definitely let you know what I thought of Soundless, it’s got mostly good reviews so hopefully I should like it! And I know, way too many, my bank account can’t keep up!

Haha yay dinosaurs! When I was in middle school, I once went on a field trip to a place called Dinosaur World. I think you would have loved it. I mean, it was really just a few random dinosaur statue things… a very anticlimactic place now that I think about it lol.
Wow, you had a great reading month! I had two, maybe three because I haven’t quite decided on one yet, 4.5 star books, which is rare for me, so I guess I could say I had a great reading month too for that reason. Though I did also have one awful 1 star book and two 3 stars. Still, I’ll be happy with the 4.5s lol.

Hahah that does sound quite anticlimactic but I’m sure I still would have liked it! Even just one dinosaur statue would have satisfied me.
Haha if you’re rating stuff 4.5 then you definitely had a good reading month! That’s a shame about the 1 star book though, I haven’t read anything I’d consider a 1 star for years which is pretty lucky!

So cool that you’re working at Lush! I don’t have one in my town, but every time I go the city I always visit there. And that dinosaur maze sounds so rad!! Dinosaurs are the coolest. I just added Girl Detached to my TBR!

Haha thanks! I’m really excited about starting there, especially now all the Christmas products are coming in! And the dinosaur maze was really cool, I felt like I was about 5 though hahah. I hope you enjoy Girl Detached! It was an amazing book with some really tough issues that were handled with care.
