The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted at The Caffeinated Book Reviewer in which book bloggers recap their week and look at what’s to come.
Another pretty uneventful week, but next week I’m visiting my boyfriend so that should shake up my boring life a bit!
I’m still working on my novel and I’m almost halfway through writing it which is very exciting. I’ve been writing since I was a child and this is the first proper novel I’m determined to finish. So, fingers crossed!
Anyway, the posts this week:
- Top Ten Tuesday: Ten ALL TIME Favourite Books of the Sci-Fi Genre
- Why Diversity Is A Good Thing
- Stacking the Shelves | YA Fantasy
- Review: The City of Mirrors (Passage #3) by Justin Cronin
I’ve just finished the final book in The Passage series by Justin Cronin, which was such an amazing book (and series). I’m pretty sad now and I have no idea what I’m going to read next. I’m thinking Nevernight, but I honestly don’t know, there are too many good books in my TBR like Six of Crows, An Ember in the Ashes, A Darker Shade of Magic and Radio Silence to name but a few.
However, seeing as I just finished a Science Fantasy novel, I’m thinking I should try and read something other than Fantasy next. I might just sit and stare at my TBR for a bit.
I haven’t listened to anything new this week, so have some London Grammar:
Six of Crows seems to get a lot of love, I wasn’t initially interested in it but after seeing s many good reviews I’m reconsidering. And Radio Silence caught my eye- I saw the other cover of that one and actually am using it for a Tagline post I have coming up. Looks intriguing.
Good luck with your writing!

Yeah same here! I wasn’t a huge fan of the original Grisha trilogy, I only read the first book. I enjoyed it but never got round to finishing the series, however after seeing how much love Six of Crows gets I thought I should probably give this world another go! Ooh I didn’t know there was another cover for Radio Silence. I’ll have to google it. And thank you!

Six of Crows is amazing! And you’d be reading it just in time for the sequel to come out, Crooked Kingdom. I wasn’t big on the Grisha trilogy either, but found Six of Crows to be much better.
Congrats on reading halfway on your novel! It’s crazy hard work 🙂

All the hype for the sequel was what convinced me to give Six of Crows a go, so at least if I enjoy it I won’t have to wait ages for Crooked Kingdom haha. Yeah I’ve heard Six of Crows is better than the original trilogy which is good. Thank you! It certainly is hard work, but also a lot of fun! 🙂

Congrats on being almost halfway through your novel! You’ve already made it this far, you’d better not give up now! And psh, you can never read too many fantasy books in a row. So if you want to read another fantasy next, I say go for it 🙂

Thank you! Haha I’m determined not to give up now, especially because my sister has bet me £100 I won’t finish it! Haha true! But then which fantasy do I read? I have too many good ones!

Oooo… read A Darker Shade Of Magic! I loved it. I have all three of The Passage books as audio. I probably won’t get to them until next year though. I am trying to clear out my review books so I have more time for personal reading next year. Have a terrific week. 🙂
